Edited: This goes well beyond Michelle Bachmann now. Aside from maybe Jon Huntsman, they're all just nuts. This is the place to keep track of them all!

Adam's Batshit Crazy Republican Presidential Candidates Roundup
Posted by Adam54 on Thursday, May 26, 2011
Alabama actually beat Mississippi to that one. Hurrah!
One of Alabama's unofficial state mottos (I think the official one is "We dare defend our rights!") is "Alabama: At Least We're Not Mississippi."
So, Rick Perry appears to think he's got a shot at the GOP nomination in 2016. Sarah Palin is "thinking about" running for Senate in 2014 (she won't. Bank on it.)
But all of these idiots popping back up of late, combined with the usual barrage of absurd rape comments and doctors talking about fetal masturbation has gotten me thinking:
Is George W. Bush the current intellectual leader of the Republican Party? I don't mean that as nearly as much of a slam as it sounds, but really...he's remained dignified and above the fray (by staying silent and refusing to take shots at Obama) while out of office, but when he does speak up it's been about things like how immigration reform is just good policy, politics aside and how a lot of work needs to be done to eliminate poverty in Africa.
So by simply shutting up when needed and saying non/mildly controversial things when he has spoken up, has he quietly positioned himself as the smartest man in the party?
It is generally the execution that fucks the whole shebang up all over the place.
Remember there are fucking retards on both fringes and quite a few desperately trying to cling to the centre too.
Oh yes, I'm aware that there are a variety of idiots out there. The particularly zany ones tend to congregate on the right, of course. (If I just said "Hey Dalty, An American politician was talking about fetal masturbation." or "Hey Dalty, an American politician used the word 'wetbacks' in an interview." you wouldn't have much trouble guessing which party they belonged to, would you?)
But really, it's just fascinating to me that George W. Bush is coming off as legitimately smart and dignified by comparision. Never would've believed you if you'd told me that were possible five years ago.
Normally I'd assume "walking about fetal masturbation" was a typo, but since I know you're talking about Hicks and his kin, I'm inclined to think it's not.
Damn it. Fixed. But you didn't quote my original mistake, so now no one will ever believe that I really made that error! TAKE THAT, IOWA!
I only quote Goits because his pain is so delicious.

I dunno, something about no taxation without representation?
