Battlefield Bad Company 2

Posted by omicron on Monday, March 1, 2010

It's released tomorrow. Trying to decide if I want to get it right away or wait. Think if you get it right away you get a bonus unlock or special gun or something

I had fun with the first Bad Company and the sequel looks like it will be just as good as the first. I won't be getting it right away though. I am saving my cash for a few of the other huge games coming out over the next couple months. There are almost too many huge games coming out to keep up with, but I guess that's better than having no games at all.

welp I went and bought it today. Haven't played it yet, but I am ready for some more FPS action. Apparently I get several special unlocks for buying the first week and access to new maps for multiplayer when they release them.

played the first couple of missions.

Good things:The teammate's dialogue is funny and interesting. Nice environments and vehicles to drive.
Bad things: maybe just be my eyes or the fact I am playing on a non-HD tv, but alot of the environments look dark and muddy. Hard to find new weapons.

Haven't played online yet other than the demo. It was fun and we'll see how the new maps and games go.

I've been playing alot of the online multiplayer. It's definitely fun, and as I get more used to the visuals, it's become easier to see other players.

Like the maps, and having alot of fun with the Squad Deathmatch mode. Playing Rush or Conquest can get really hard since I think choppers are incredibly overpowered. If you get a good pilot and some good gunners, a simple UH-60 can dominate a battlefield. I don't know if you can unlock a specific AA missile, but right now unless you can find a mounted heavy MG, it's almost impossible to shoot down a compentently piloted chopper.

Also not sure how good a medic is. It seems like, unlike the previous game, you regen health. I was working with a good squad yesterday, and even when the medic would drop medpacks, I didn't notice any appreciable regen other than normal. I earned tons of points by playing assault and dropping ammo boxes. Might just be the squad DM mode.

I was playing last night, and guess who I saw on another squad? HighSky. I think I even shot him a couple of times :)

New DLC out, based in the Viet Nam era.  Wonder if that's any answer to BlackOps coldwar setting?

Looks interesting, but not sure if I want to spend the 15bucks.  I haven't been playing much of the online lately.

I got BC2 a couple weeks ago (including Vietnam DLC), and I've been playing it with several of my friends.  I've been having a blast with it so far (to the point that I've already put in over 30 hours into the online multiplayer).  I tend to pick the medic or engineer class the most, but all of the classes are fun to play.  Vietnam is well worth playing. It has quite a different feel from the regular game.

BC2 is at its best when you're in a squad of your friends taking out objectives and enemies in epic firefights involving tanks, helicopters, tons of explosions, and collapsing buildings.

yeah, back when Gentleman Death was around, I'd occasionally met up with him and some of his buddies and play BF:BC. If you've got a decent squad of varied classes, you can rule the battlefield. That's one thing I don't like about COD:BO. There seems to be almost no tactical talk at all. Admittedly, I don't talk much if at all when playing, and I rarely play the objective-based games so it might be better on those.
