Current Annoyances: Die Roboter
Posted by The Swollen Goi... on Friday, May 24, 2013
The new job will be in a small town pretty close to Columbia, MO (only 2 hours away from St. Louis), which is where KingVoyeur used to live.
Current Annoyance: The website I use at work to download insurance payments/check why claims haven't been paid is currently down. That website enables me to do a solid 85% of my job. Suffice it to say, I am quite quite bored right now.
Right now I am doing a little dance to keep you entertained, and a song. There is a song, honest.
As it currently stands, I'm going to need the dance of entertainment to go on for another 6-8 hours. Oof.
BY THE WAY: Did I ever send you the video of me doing The Dance of a Thousand Goiters, Dalty? I'd completely forgotten about that til just now.
I just gave you a way to waste more than four hours in the Jakester edition of the "What Are You Watching?" thread series.
No, you didn't. Know would be a good time.
A thousand Goiters. Heavens. My head spins at the sheer possibilities! Please tell me it doesn't mean 1000x more Horso?
Alas, Goiter, it's a small office and I still need to put on the facade of doing things, so YouTube is out.
Current Annoyance: The website I use for 85% of my job is still down. Also down? The "contact us" button on the website which gives me the website's phone number. I have no way of calling for an ETA.
Well played, website. Well played.
Ack! Any consensus on what may happen? Losses for sure, right? But maybe not widespread?
Either way, riot in the streets against the Tories afterwards for me.

Not the Tories fault!
These aren't austerity related cuts?
New, updated annoyance: I can get all the way into the section of the website I need, only to see a big giant mess of code. Fucking hell this is a waste of a day.
Consensus is average of 1-in-5 but hardest hit in my division.
New world, new structure. All change in last 2 years, new strategy etc. so new way of doing stuff. Need less people.
That makes perfect sense and I really hope you and the bulk of your staff make it through okay.
But I'm still going to blame the Tories. It feels better.
Cheers Adam. It's the downside of being an expensive member of staff. Bin one of me, or four junior staff. Take the reward so I have to take the risk.
Still fucking shitting myself though!
Current annoyance: Today is Jobmageddon!
8am call with the CEO, 9:30 presentation from the CIO on the future state and structure of the division, followed by individual consultations with the teams.
Shame, it's such a lovely day outside!

He is only allowed to worship Jubboiter. Even if pretending. Rule #1.
