Fallout 3 'sequel'

Posted by omicron on Monday, April 20, 2009

Fallout: New Vegas, the game is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment. They were behind KOTOR2, Neverwinter Nights2 and some other great RPGs.

Fallout 3:New Vegas preview. Looks cool as hell.

It is running on the same engine that Fallout 3 ran on, and a lot of the people worked on the first couple Fallout games. It looks like they are making some cool additions to how Fallout 3 worked. The Hardcore mode sounds damned cool, but it will probably be really hard that way. I can't tell you how many bullets I hoarded on my person in Fallout 3, so if bullets had weight, I would have been screwed. I am also excited about weapon mods.

Since I just finished Fallout 3 a couple weeks ago, I'm not ready for a new one, but maybe I will be by the time this comes out in the fall. It will supposedly be at least as big as Fallout 3 was, so it is certainly more than just an expansion pack.

yeah ammo was ridiculous. I have several thousand rounds of every type on me at all times. I still need to get the DLC for Fallout. I've heard good things about The Pitt and Broken Steel.

I would actually recommend all of the Fallout DLC. Of course, I got it all included with the GOTY edition of the game, so take that as you will. Broken Steel is a mus as it adds story after the ending of the game and raises the level cap. The Pitt was pretty creepy and had some cool weapons. The only one I wouldn't necessarily recommend is Point Lookout, but I seem to be in the minority on that one. I just didn't think it quite measured up to the rest of the DLC. It was still fun, but not nearly as engrossing as the rest of Fallout 3's DLC.

I want and got it this weekend.  It is pretty good so far, and I've had none of the technical issues mentioned in some reviews.

New DLC for Fallout:NV.  I really need to get back to this game and finish it off.  Hell, I need to get the DLC for the first one and play it :)
