Watching episode 1 & 2 now. Looking good. Anyone else watching this?

I just did not have the heart for something so violent. I think I'm also losing patience with long stories that might have endless mythologies. Finally, I'm going to be moving soon, or eventually, and I'm moving away from satellite/cable and don't want to start something new. So, no.

After careful consideration, I've decided to cut Bacon out of my diet.

I watched the first two episodes and found it to be pretty damn inane.

We're to believe that Carroll has inspired a cult of psychopaths who are mentally stable enough to function and generally be successful in the world yet are unstable enough to follow him and kill to accomplish his goals, which appear to be set up years in advance? Sure, those kinds of people do exist, but usually their ego is such that they want the recognition and make plans. They don't seem to do things for someone. Again, it happens, but the premise is that there are hundreds, maybe thousands in this hidden cult. I just can't buy it.

If Jakester can't buy it, what chance do I have?

 Right there with ya, pal.

I might try and give it one more go, but really, it's pretty stupid.

I would watch a show called The Hollowing.

The first 2 episodes are available at fox.com. The 2nd episode is also re-running tonight.

I am watching it, and find it pretty enjoyable.

I've really enjoyed the music selection in the show as well.

I was mildly entertained by it, but agree with Jakester that it is pretty unbelievable that these people would be part of a cult like this.  Plus, they forgot about Bacon's so called heart issue after the first episode.  Suddenly, he is running around like he is living in Bomont again.

Turn your head and cough!

When Hulu goes to commercial break, an announcer will often say, "The following is brought to you by X." For a while, that X was The Following. I got to hear "The following is brought to you by The Following" for about a week.

If it was The Bringer Of Annoyance it would be the show Goiter was watching.

The first episode is pretty dull. I've watched bits and pieces of it over the course of three days. It has those dreadful Lucas moments you'd expect where Li'l Indy figures out something all the adults don't. It has pretty spotty child acting. It has a pretty overbearing slavery-is-bad message. Naturally, Li'l Indy is the only person who appears to have a problem with it.

There's this one point about midway through the episode where, despite how dull the scene already is, one of the characters asks the rest of the characters if they'd like some tea. And you know what happens next? THEY ALL GO AND HAVE SOME FUCKING TEA! This is supposed to be Indiana Fucking Jones! It's not even done so that it's a cute moment. There's no cutting back and forth from peril and bombast to a quaint little tea party. The adults are standing around talking, then tea is offered, then they're sitting around drinking tea and talking. They're not really even talking about something all that engaging. It's clearly exposition to tell the audience more about the political atmosphere of the current locale.

It took me back to 2008 and the Great Indiana Jones Debate on Excelsior. (Hell, maybe it was 2010, and maybe it was on Corona. I can't keep up with this shit anymore.) Ipsy called himself an Indy fan and said something about how fantastic a show the YIJC was, then Hicks asked him something about Raiders. Ipsy said something like, "I've actually never seen Raiders." Hicks went into full-on mock mode after this and told Ipsy that he couldn't claim to be an Indy fan unless he'd actually seen Raiders. Ipsy then said he'd seen bits of it on TV, that he got the gist of it from this, and that he had never felt compelled to sit down and watch it from start to finish. Hicks then said Ipsy's never having seen Raiders invalidated everything Ipsy had to say on the subject of Indy.

Ipsy went into how he'd seen ToD, LC, and the entirety of the YIJC, and how if that didn't make him an Indy fan, he didn't know what could. Then Hicks said, "Maybe actually bothering to watch fucking Raiders." Then Ipsy said he'd technically seen more Indy than Hicks since Hicks hadn't seen all of the YIJC. Then Hicks said watching YIJC meant jack shit, since it was tripe and not really even Indy. Then Ipsy started to get really pissy and kept returning to his "I've seen more Indiana Jones than you!" argument. Then Hicks said something pretty hilariously dismissive like, "Be gone with ye!" Then Ipsy left.

Throughout the whole thing, Hicks kept his Hicks-like cool. Ipsy just kept getting madder and madder. It was amusing to watch, even though I like both guys.

Anyway, I've only ever seen bits of the YIJC before this. It would be on TV, and I'd say, "Hey, it's that young Indiana Jones show," and I'd start watching. I remember being a little annoyed about how it seemed like he had met every single human of historical note before he was an adult, but I remember telling myself, "Well, it's Indy," and figuring that the show could be a good way to get young viewers to swallow the bitter pill that is a history lesson.

That said, I only ever watched bits. I never stayed on the channel very long when I'd flip to the YIJC. I'd flip away in part because it was dull and in part because I didn't like watching movies interrupted by commercials on broadcast TV. I'm pretty sure each episode was a mini movie clocking in at somewhere between ninety minutes and two hours. I think all the bits I've seen have been from the episodes with the little kid Indy. (Word of warning: I'm only on the first episode, and the kid has already said "Jeepers" and "Yippee" a handful of times. He also paints himself up in redface to hide his caucasianness and go to the bazaar. Good stuff.)

There's something missing from what I've seen so far. The familiar soundtrack is missing from the first episode, and that does a lot to make it feel un-Indy-like. I don't know if they use it in later episodes. I don't know if the episodes with the older Indy played by Sean Patrick Flanery are any more exciting than the ones with the kid. My guess is that they are. I suppose I'll find out.

Maybe I just miss Ford's charisma. Indy's not Indy without it.

 No, but...

Kevin Bacon's character had an affair with the character played by Natalie Zea.

Natalie Zea had a minor role on "The Shield" with Michael Chiklis.

Michael Chiklis stared alongside Julie Benz in "No Ordinary Family."

Julie Benz was in "Boondock Saints 2" with Sean Patrick Flanery who was a Young Indy.
