Pat, GREAT to see you back up man, I am loving the fact that Development Hell is up again and not "heck"
That being said, Drupal may have been not such a great choice but I understand the need for a large CMS. One gripe I have and it seems a lot of others as well is the forum. Whomever is doing the programming for you, you and that party should seriously look at integrating phpBB as the forum instead of drupals nasty integrated stuff.
Just my 2 cents.
GREAT to have you back man!!

Thanks for the love. It's good to be back and doing the grind. I missed the database pages too.
Regarding Drupal...yeah, it's got its forum issues as well as image issues. When I went into development with CA 2.0 with the dev team that I chose (believe it or not, these guys were the seventh ones), I had some understanding that building the site in Drupal would be great in some areas and not so great in others. The forums are one area where work continues to be needed. In a different thread (http://coronacomingattractions.com/what-are-we-going-do-about-site-traffic) I asked for feedback about ways to improve the forums and add new features. Later this month I'll be submitting this to my development team to work on adding these improvements.
phpBB is awesome and exactly the forum that I want to have. It's robust and super-cool. The problem is that phpBB user ID data can't be shared by the Drupal user database, so I had to make a decision when building the site to have just one user database. This way a user can post comments in news stories, on a film database page and in the forums and it's all under the same account, as well as vote on the HypeMeter. If I used phpBB, I would have had to have two different user databases, and I couldn't begin to imagine that.
The dev team that I have is up to the challenge of adding more functionality and pep to the forums. The problem is that it costs me a good chunk of change to have them do it and until some significant ad revenue starts to roll in, I'm playing it safe. Plus, there's also other site improvements that I want to pay for...for instance, right now if a movie starts with "The" like THE DARK KNIGHT it'll show up in the database under "T", which is now my biggest pet peeve. There's other things that I want to add too. It's going to be an ongoing process. The good news is that things are developing just now that should allow some decent ad revenue to begin to happen, which I'll put back into expanding the site. But yeah, for July I've slated some cash to improve the forums, so look for some improvements to happen in about a month or so.
I definitely want more of this kind of feedback so I can gauge what people like and want to see more of, so thanks for taking the time to let me know your thoughts.
