Lately I've had trouble where my mic on my controller is always on. This creates loud noise/feedback when playing online games(I think, I don't hear anything but have had other players complain). Unplugging and replugging the headset, shutting down the controller and console, doesn't fix it. Used to be occasionally, but the last 3 times I've gone online, I've noticed it.
Any ideas? Bad headset, bad controller?
That's a good suggestion Strider. Omi, try plugging it into another controller and if you get the same problem, it's your headset.....but if it works on another controller then the one previous, is bad.
Also, it IS worth it to cough up the extra money and get the Turtle Beach Headsets. I believe Best Buy has them and there are two kinds, ones that go for $50 and another I believe is $60. They have GREAT sound quality, I mean top notch shit here. I have found that the microsoft ones are very flimsy and easy to break.
That's the problem, I only have one controller :) I am trying to figure out the most cost effective way to get up and running. It's really not a big deal, since I don't talk much online, but it's nice to have the headset enabled so I can mute it and not hear the insane ramblings and racist attacks most FPSers seem to spew out like vomit.

Have you tried the headset with another controller? I've never had any trouble with my mic, so I'm not sure what to tell you.
