Most anticipated TV shows

Posted by Daltons chin dimple on Thursday, September 9, 2010

I am really looking forward to The Walking Dead. I think it is on the FX channel in the UK from November, maybe.

What else is on the horizon?

The Event (starting to sour on this; it'll likely be another Lost-type show that never reveals what The Event actually is)

No Ordinary Family (looks super cheesy but has Michael Chikles and Dexter's wife in it)

Undercover (JJ Abrams)

Outsourced (new NBC comedy about customer service reps in India)

The Event is on C4 from October here.  When does it start over there?

They have got a lot better at not being 7 or 8 months behind on US TV shows in the UK now.  Lost and BSG were almost simultaneous broadcasts give or take a day (or an hour in the case of the Lost finale).

September 20th. That week seems to be when most of the fall's season premiers are airing.

Hey Dalty, when does Spooks start over there?  It doesn't air over here anymore, so I need to view it by "other" means.

So both Lost and Alias are coming back to TV?

Personally, I'm looking forward to the second seasons of Modern Family and Community.

Technically, my "most anticipated" shows are returning ones like Chuck and Fringe.  Out of the new stuff, The Walking Dead is about the only thing I'm looking forward to.

Fringe has gotten pretty good.  I'm glad Caprica is coming back in early Oct.  I hope it gets a second season, too.

Boardwalk Empire looks good, too.

Wasn't there a show that NBC advertised last season that was supposed to run for a full season, then it got pushed to mid season, then it got turned to a miniseries, then....NOTHING?  WTF was that called?

Bones and CastleFringe has been good and bad, but finished out the season pretty strong, so I'm looking forward to its return.  (A month before the season finale, I was having a hard time caring enough to watch.)  Grey's Anatomy... I'll be watching it, but I don't know how much I'm anticipating it.

Castle, Lie to Me, V, and Human Target

V for nostalgia and Inara, the rest are all solid choices. Human Target makes me giddy in it's pure fun nature.

As for new stuff, i'm going to check out No Ordinary Family and Chase. Maybe The Event.

No Ordinary Family looks like someone watched The Incredibles, then watched Heroes, and then decided that The Incredibles could make it as a TV show.

The show hasn't even aired yet and the concept is *already* old.

To be honest I have seen nothing of it, only read a small bit about it.

Basically I am watching it specifically for Chiklis and the fact that it's about superheroes. I'm still waiting for a good Superhero show.

And it may be old, but if it can rip off The Incredibles sense of fun, humor, and action i'll be sold. If not, I guess i'll stare at the wall or something.

I've read that Human Target is being re-tooled and is adding a new female character into the mix (and not the agent, IIRC).  It's a shame.  They had a good thing going as far as I was concerned.

I've just checked and the female character you mention is played by Indira Varma whom I do not like. Well, I imagine her to be a wonderful person but I know her from Rome and Torchwood and her characters on those shows did not endere me towards seeing her in other shows of which I am especially fond of.

Also, the show has a new composer; he'd best bring his A-face.

As long as they keep the cinimatography and coreography up to par i'll be happy. It was nice having a show that featured a) talented fighters, b) having imaginative fights, and c) that we could actually see.

I would be looking forward to Lie to Me, except it's not over for the season.  Season finale is on tomorrow night.  It's one of my favorite shows right now, and I'm going to be super pissed when it eventually gets cancelled.

I must say that you seem to be a bit lacking in information not mentioning the most highly anticipated show ever.

HBOs Game of Thrones

The season is over. That's a rerun of the finale on tonight.

I would be looking forward to Castle, except I am way behind on it.  I have only seen the first season of it.  Lucky for me, season two is out on DVD soon.

Mango, she was deliciously annoying on Torchwood.

The idea of retooling it, though, has my anticipation level falling.

Ok, so wow. I saw that all the other shows were re-running their season finales, and assumed Lie to Me was on the same schedule. Looking it up, I see the second half of the season was pushed into the summer. That'll teach me to talk without looking it up first!

After perusing EW's fall TV guide, I've added 5 new shows to try out:

"Hawaii Five-O": for the yummy scenery

"The Event": Need something for my twisty-plot fix

"Detroit 1-8-7": filmed in my hometown, plus Imperioli

"Blue Bloods": I like cop shows, this one has Selleck's 'stache.

"Raising Hope": looks funny, plus Cloris Leachman is 10 times funnier than Betty White in my book.

I'll also be looking for "The Walking Dead" and David Cross's new show once they start airing in October/November.

Returning shows I'm most anticipating: Castle, HIMYM, Parenthood, Grey's.

How I Met Your Mother needs a real shot in the arm. Last season was pretty lackluster and as I had once predicted (not here, but elsewhere) by season 5 the basic idea is stretching credability.

This is a show I enjoy so much that I once broke into a friends house while she was at work so I could watch her DVD's of it. But now I don't really have any excitement about the new season, but I do hope for the best.

As a side note, after several episodes, three glasses of scotch, and five beers I began taking images of her TV on the phone and texting them to said friend. It was the beginning of a beautiful running gag whrere I broke into her house a lot.
