Don't know if this is exactly heresy, but "Forrest Gump" won best picture and I thought it was an exceedingly average gimmick movie. Take away Gary Sinise and it would be a total piece of shit.
Fans of Malick's post-seventies output annoy me more than Malick's post-seventies output.
Just in case it isn't clear, Malick's post-seventies output annoys me a lot.
I don't expect I'll be outputting much past my seventies. Without the help of Viagra, that is.

That said, the movies he's making these days feel like they were dreamed up and executed by a precocious teen.
I think Peter Jackson's King Kong could use a couple more deca-hours of developing the characters who all get wiped out a couple of minutes later on Kong's island.

I have seen Jaws 4: The Revenge start to finish as many, if not more, times as Spielberg's Jaws.
And yet you still fail to review it, like some kind of movie reviewing slacker.
The Rocketeer is just not very good. The best thing in it is Timothy Dalton and his magnificent chin, particularly the dimple at the end. However I am biased.

So I'll start with this.
Day Of The Dead is a really bad movie. Bad music, bad acting, badly shot and edited. It looks like a TV movie. It thinks it will blind you with gore.
All Romero zombie movies are overrated and people look for important sociological subtext that just isn't there as an excuse to mask the movie's failings.
