The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn will arrive in North American theaters on December 23, 2011. The studios backing the film have also finally decided that they will definitely release the movie in 3-D.
However, American and Canadian audiences will be watching the Tintin movie almost two months later than the rest of the world. Sony Pictures wants to release the movie in late October/early November in Europe, Latin America and India while Paramount is distributing in Asia, Australia, the United Kingdom and all other English-speaking countries at the same time. Likely the two studios are releasing Tintin early in international markets because of the character's higher visibility among these audiences.
