M. Night Shyamalan will write and direct an untitled science fiction/adventure film set to star Jaden Smith and his superstar father Will. Adding to the family connection, Jada Pinkett-Smith will also be one of the film's producers.
The movie takes place 1,000 years in the future and involves a spaceship that crashes on a deserted planet. The only member of the ship in any position to get help is Jaden's character. Somehow playing into the mix is the boy's not-so perfect relationship with his estranged father.
"The chance to make a scary, science-fiction film starring Jaden and Will is my dream project," said Shyamalan in a studio issued press release.
