Bloody Disgusting breaks the exclusive news story that a remake of John Landis' An American Werewolf in London is afoot at Dimension Films. The website confirmed their scoop directly from Landis who remarked, "Perhaps someone will make a brilliant movie out of it." The director holds the theatrical remake rights to the film and is in negotiations with Dimension.

The original American Werewolf in London starred David Naughton as a yankee tourist who becomes the lone survivor of an werewolf attack. Because he was bitten by the original lycanthrope, the American learns from the spirit of his dead friend that he will transform into a rampaging beast come the next full moon. The film was a commercial and critical hit when it was released in 1981. A 1997 sequel failed to find similar success. [Full story]
