Let the Right One In director Tomas Alfredson will make The Danish Girl with Nicole Kidman as his next film. The Swedish filmmaker plans on shooting the film before moving on to the remake of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy next.

Kidman, who also serves as a producer on the project, will play the part of real-life Danish painter Einar Wegener, the man who, in 1931, became the first individual to undergo a sex change operation and become a woman. Charlize Theron had been attached to play Wegener's wife Gerda but has now left the production. [Full story]
