Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd and Harry Connick Jr. will star in Dolphin's Tale, which has become a 3D movie now. The first day of filming is scheduled for September 27 in Clearwater, Florida.
Freeman will play the doctor that helps the injured dolphin (which will be played in the movie by the real-life animal, Winter), Judd will play the mother of the film's central character, the young boy that emotionally connects to the dolphin, and Connick a marine biologist.

Alcon Entertainment (The Book of Eli) is developing a movie based on the real-life story of a dolphin that lost her tale and of the humans that helped give her an artificial new one. Dolphin's Tale is the title of the project and Alcon has hired actor-turned-director Charles Martin Smith (Air Bud) to helm the feature. The story will center on a young boy who rallies a town to come together and save the injured mammal, then rehabilitate her. [Full story]
