Drive Angry has received an R rating from the MPAA for "strong brutal violence throughout, grisly images, some graphic sexual content, nudity and pervasive language."

Twilight's Billy Burke has been added to the cast of Drive Angry. In the film Burke will play a character that Variety describes as a "charismatic cult leader whose nefarious influence leads to kidnapping and murder." Filming gets underway next month.

According to Bloody Disgusting, Amber Heard (Zombieland) and William Fichtner (The Dark Knight) are in talks to join the cast of Drive Angry. There's about a month left before filming starts in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Nicolas Cage will star in his first 3-D movie, an action-thriller called Drive Angry. In the picture Cage's character is chasing after the killers of his daughter, a young mother whose infant has also been kidnapped by the criminals. As the father of the slain woman races down the freeway trying to keep the bad guys in sight the erratic driving of the two speeding vehicles leave behind a trail of smashed up automobiles, lacerated passengers and shaken pedestrians.
Patrick Lussier (My Bloody Valentine 3-D) will direct from a screenplay by Todd Farmer (Jason X). The movie will shoot in Louisiana next April. [Full story]
