If you visit this special page on YouTube for The Expendables, you'll get to see a new approach to movie marketing. When you get there and the video interview with Sylvester Stallone starts to play, don't click away until you start seeing what happens. The action takes about 10 seconds to get going but once it does, it's unlike any YouTube video that you've ever seen before.

An unofficial trailer for The Expendables is getting noticed around the movie blogosphere. Assembled by The Monocular Group, it puts front and center the idea that the popular movies these days are targeted for female audiences that want romance (Twilight) or an emotional connection to the star (Julia Roberts in Eat, Pray, Love, opening the same day as Expendables). This trailer not so delicately tells you that, if you're a man's man and want to see violence and mayhem, you better slap your money down and pay to see The Expendables when it opes in theaters next month.

The alpha dog of all action movie posters just debuted on JoBlo. Eight surnames of action movie stars all together on one poster equals cinematic coolness.

Hey, it's a new trailer for The Expendables! And it's got our first look at Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger in it! If this were a sandwich we'd be ordering the foot-long double meat and extra cheese to go please and thank you one.

Two new poster designs for The Expendables have been sighted. The first was seen drinking around a watering hole at Ain't It Cool News and is a design intended for audiences in Denmark; the other is the North American one-sheet and that was an exclusive from IGN.

Well look at what we have here...it's a promotional trailer for The Expendables. What's a promo trailer you say? It's something cut together to attract interest from distributors. Our guess is that Nu Image/Millennium cut it together to whet the appetite for next month's annual American Film Market event, the place where film investors and owners get together to cut business deals.

Lionsgate has decided to push back its release of The Expendables from April 23 to August 20, 2010. Look at it this way: the studio must think that what they've got can open strong in the late summer. Right now there are no other movies slated to open directly against Sly's Expendables.

The publicist for The Expendables calls the content in this video "just a spoonful of footage" but it's good enough for us. Stallone's in his element!

The publicist working on The Expendables is writing a blog and has posted frequent updates to it during the film's short production run. In addition to finding new photos of Stallone and other cast members doing action stunts there are also the first-hand observations of the publicist as she chronicles the production:
"so we are now into week 2 here in Brazil. today we are shooting in the rural area of Colonia about 1 1/2 hours outside Rio. It is also where the mental institution is located although compared to some of our crew everyone acts pretty normal. The set is situated in the jungle which is filled with mosquitoes and ticks among other things. Factor in the extreme heat and humidity, the occasional downpour, 300 hundred crew members, hundred extras, 4 cameras, cranes, huge lighting set ups, a language barrier and the merging of two completely different ways of working (US vs Brazil) you could have a recipe for disaster. Bu we don’t, thanks to Sly and his total command of the set along with the total professionalism of the cast."

A still showing Eric Roberts and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin flying through the air as a pretty orange fireball goes off right beside them has materialized on Ain't It Cool News. Proof of the film's action quotent or somthing to appease the fanboys when in fact The Expendables is really based on a Jane Austin book? You decide!

Two more folk have been added to the cast. First, actress Brittany Murphy (Sin City) will play the girlfriend of Mickey Rourke's character, a singer who we'll see perform a musical number during the film. Secondly, Zayas has been cast as the dictator of the South American country that the Expendables have been hired to liberate. Zayas' best known role is as Angel Batista on Dexter.
