Hot off the moderate success of The Town, Warner Bros. has asked Ben Affleck if he has any interest in directing Tales From the Gangster Squad. The project has been in development at the studio and is based on a series of Los Angeles Times articles by reporter Paul Lieberman about a group of vigilante cops from the 1940s that tried to run gangster Micky Cohen out of town. Will Beall has already finished a screenplay.
