Warner Bros. has bought the movie rights to Ally Carter's to be published novel The Heist Society and tapped Whip It screenwriter Shauna Cross to adapt it. Denise Di Novi and Alison Greenspan are producing.
The novel, which is being published this month by Hyperion, centers on a teenage girl who assembles a team of her friends to help her steal back a mobster's stolen art collection and thus remove her father from the suspicions of the mobster. Instead of keeping the main characters in their teens, the studio wants to age the girls to their early 20s.
