The sly group at Cinema Blend provided us our first look at the teaser poster for Inglourious Basterds. It's not really that thrilling to look at (oooh, grey clouds in the sky!) but at least it's something to hang in our poster gallery until something meatier comes along.

Ain't It Cool's Harry Knowles just came back from a four-day visit to the set of the film and his article on what sights he saw is now online. "Now what did I see on set? A shit load of Nazis dying," writes Knowles. "Seriously. If you thought Nazis died in Dirty Dozen… brother, you ain’t seen nothing yet."

The Quentin Tarantino Archives has an in character poster for Diane Kruger's character, German film actress Bridget von Hammersmarck (basically, Q.T.'s version of Marlene Dietrich.) In the film Bridget funnels information to the resistance about the plans of the German army in occupied France. The poster is in the style of the period and features a painted visage of von Hammersmarck in the German film "Fraulein Doktor".

According to The Playlist, Samuel L. Jackson and Maggie Cheung are both in the cast but haven't as yet been officially announced. The site claims that Cheung will play the character of Madame Mimieux, a theater owner that takes in Shosanna when she is on the run from the Nazis. Jackson, who has worked with Tarantino before in the now-classic Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown, will play the movie's narrator. Supposedly Jackson took the initiative himself and called Tarantino up and asked for a part in his buddy's new movie.

The first released image from Tarantino's next movie has been released. Take a look at Brad Pitt about to shoot a scene as Lieutenant Aldo Raine, commander of his hand-picked squad of Jewish-American soldiers out to kill as many Nazis as they can in German-occupied France. Raine is known as "The Apache" because he's scalped any bad guys that he's caught.

Til Schweiger has now joined the cast. Schweiger, an action movie star in Germany, will be a member of the American unit. While his face isn't as well known to western audiences as it is in his native land, he's had roles in films such as Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo, Driven and King Arthur. He'll also be seen in the role of commando Jack Carver in Uwe Boll's next video game movie adaptation, Far Cry.

Variety reports that Tarantino has found his SS commander and it's a German television actor named Christoph Waltz, ending the possibility that the role of SS Colonel Hans Landa may yet still have gone to Leonardo DiCaprio. Also added to the ensemble was Diane Kruger (National Treasure, Troy) who plays the part of a German actress named Bridge Von Hammersmark. American Paul Rust (Semi-Pro, the upcoming I Love You Beth Cooper) also draws a cast member paycheck.

Tarantino continues to look at actors from outside of the box as he assembles the cast for Inglorious Bastards. Now he's approached Shrek and Austin Powers star Mike Myers to play a part in his World War II action pic, a British general named Ed French who lends his military expertise toward assembling the American team that gets sent into France. The role is said to be minor and perhaps even as short as a cameo with a couple of lines. Filming is still on track to begin on October 13 in Germany.

Oh, definitely. Hypocrisy is all the rage for '09.
So......You plan on going to see this movie then, right?
I am getting sick and tired of constant, endless, monotonous movies about the crimes of German Nazis…
