Last night a special screening for Iron Man 2 was held at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, Texas. While the after party featured an hour's worth of DJing by director Jon Favreau, it's the audience reports that are capturing the attention of film website and blog readers.
As many suspected, there is a post-end credits easter egg scene in Iron Man 2. While that scene wasn't shown at earlier press screenings for the film, it was featured at the end of the IM2 credits during last night's screening.
For an eyewitness report of the post-credits scene read Latino Review's report.

How high is the tracking surveys for audience interest in Iron Man 2? according to The Los Angeles Times, the figures are so impressive that talk has begun about the second big screen adventure for Marvel Comics' shellhead possibly being able to surpass the $158.4 million dollar opening weekend gross for The Dark Knight, the current record holder. The awareness level in three key demographics -- males under 30, over 30 and females over 30 -- are all high.
The first Iron Man picture opened to a $98 million dollar weekend, not shabby at all, but everyone that follows box office tracking fully expects Iron Man 2 to smash that number in its first 48 hours in theaters.

Jon Favreau has tweeted that "The Wilhelm scream is in" Iron Man 2. For film lovers with deep knowledge levels of sound effects that little packet of info will be welcomed but for the rest of us, what the heck is a Wilhelm scream and what's it doing in Iron Man 2?
The scream began being heard in the early 1950s and became a defacto death scream for bad guys and good guys but more importantly generic background guys. Then, in Star Wars sound effects maestro Ben Burtt used the scream in the picture. Burtt began using it throughout the other films he worked on after Star Wars and soon people that watched a lot of movies began to take notice of the telltale yell. Now the Wilhelm scream is heard in hundreds of movies and has become an audio easter egg hunt. The name comes from the name of a character that is heard yelling the scream, Private Wilhelm, in the 1953 movie The Charge at Feather River.
Here's a compilation of Wilhelm screams throughout some of cinema's best and biggest action movies:

Right after tonight's broadcast of the Academy Awards Paramount unrolled the second trailer for Iron Man 2. New things glimpsed in the trailer: more Black Widow, more set-up of the rivalry between Tony Stark and Justin Hammer, a couple of seconds of new Whiplash, Rhodey telling Tony that he doesn't have to be a "lone gunslinger" and then the sausage gets served: Tony has a Mark V Iron Man armor that unfolds from a briefcase shape into the red and silver suit from the 1980s comic books!
