Ice Age director Chris Wedge is developing a live-action movie based on Kirsten Bakis' fantasy novel Lives of the Monster Dogs. First published in 1998, the book is about a pack of super-intelligent dogs that mimic human mannerisms, becoming instant celebrities when their existence is revealed to the public. Problems arise when the dogs begin to revert back to their feral state.

Wedge is co-writing the screenplay with Adam Klein (Artemis Fowl) and will also be producing the movie with Nikki Levy through the director's WedgeWorks production company. [Full story]
