The Vulture website is reporting that Taylor Lautner has dropped out of starring in the Max Steel movie in favor of playing Stretch Armstrong. What's playing one action figure over the other anyway?
Vulture's analysis is pretty solid: Hasbro has a track record of getting movies made from their toy lines (G.I. Joe and Transformers); Universal and producer Brian Grazer seem keen on making Armstrong a 3-D movie for 2012; and the factoid that really seems to clinch things: when Lautner showed up to the American International Toy Fair this month he was photographed playing with Hasbro's Nerf Raider Blaster and seen in the company's hospitality suite -- even though Mattel was there promoting a Twilight Jacob action figure.
