Great spy photos showing Will Smith with Josh Brolin (playing a younger version of Tomme Lee Jones' character) have turned up online. Two days ago was the start of location filming in New York City, and the public as well as members of the paparazzi were able to see the two actors as they rehearsed and later filmed a scene where the agents sit inside the trademark MIB black sedan. It's scary how much Brolin looks like a young Tommy Lee.

Rumor has it that Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia) and Sharlto Copley (The A-Team) are all working with their agents on offers to star in Men in Black III. Baldwin would play the MiB boss in the year 1969, Arterton would play a secretary from the same year and Copley would play a sage-like alien.

Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson (Nanny McPhee Returns) is in contract negotiations to play the new leader of the Men in Black. According to rumors she would play a new character called Oh, replacing Rip Torn's Zed as the new chief of the MiBs. It's unclear why Torn wouldn't be heading the group anymore unless Thompson's casting has to do with Torn's recent troubles with the law.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed a casting story that Bloody Disgusting broke two months ago: Flight of the Conchords' Jermaine Clement has won a role in the three-quel. Back when Bloody Disgusting reported on it, their source has told them that Clement was playing a character named Yaz. Now the Reporter states that the character name has been changed to Boris, and they add that he's supposed to be "charming and creepy at the same time."
THR also adds a little more about the movie's story: that the film's action begins and ends in the year 1969, with Josh Brolin playing a younger version of Agent Kay.

While speaking with MTV, Josh Brolin expressed that he's still interested in making Men in Black 3, even though things didn't start out that way.
"I can't tell you the story, obviously, but they pitched me the general story, and I was like, 'Eh, I don't know if that's really my thing, man,'" Brolin told the once music video network.
"I was extremely grateful that they were even interested in me," he continued explaining. "But then they got more specific with the story, and I go, 'Yes, that's f---ing great!' This is a character where I feel like I can do some actual acting work within this franchise that everybody knows." That would seem to indicate that Brolin's character is indeed a younger version of Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones' character.)
Brolin did add this one finishing thought that could change his involvement in the film: "I read something early, early, early, but it's very different than what is being written right now."

The Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex blog is reporting that Oscar-nominated actor Josh Brolin is being considered for a role in Men in Black 3. Hero Complex doesn't know what the role is: could Brolin be playing a younger Agent K (that's Tommy Lee Jones' MiB), a new recruit or something else? A villain, if the second sequel follows the pattern established by Vincent D'Onofrio (in the first film) and Lara Flynn Boyle (in number #2.)
