Overture Films has given Yahoo the honor of debuting the poster for The Men Who Stare at Goats and it's funny. How funny is it? Well, a goat gets top billing right behind Kevin Spacey and the film's tagline is imaginative too.

The trailer for Men Who Stare at Goats has hit Apple's trailer site and can be watched in standard or HD versions. All you have to do is go here and watch it or focus your eyes below this line.

According to Overture Films, the film distribution company has purchased the rights to release Men Who Stare at Goats. The company made the announcement from the Cannes Film Festival. A release date wasn't given with Overture's announcement.

Covert snapshots of Clooney wearing a bushy moustache and army cameoflage clothes while walking on the Albuquerque, NM set of the film have appeared on Just Jared. The trio of photos were shot earlier today and show the actor walking to set from his trailer.

Actress Rebecca Mader is in contract talks to join the Men Who Stare at Goats production. Best known for her role as Charlottle in ABC's prime time hit Lost, Mader would play the wife of Ewan McGregor's character.

Kevin Spacey, Ewan McGregor and Jeff Bridges are joining the cast of Men Who Stare at Goats. Spacey will play Larry Hooper, a soldier trained in using mind powers by the American military and who is now running a prison camp in Iraq; Bridges will play Bill Django, the founder of the psychic soldier program; and McGregor is set to play journalist Bob Wilton, the man that stumbles across the story when he encounters ex-recruit Lyn Cassady (George Clooney).

George Clooney will star in and help produce Men Who Stare at Goats while his longtime production partner Grant Heslov will direct the picture as well as share producing duties. As reported by Variety, the screenplay was written by Peter Straughan (How to Lose Friends and Alienate People) and the production is now looking to firm up its financing monies and production partners.

The project is based on a non-fiction book by British journalist Jon Ronson which delved into the bizarre world of soldiers trained by the U.S. military to use mind powers against enemies. The so-called "warrior monks" of the First Earth Battalion claimed to be able to view their targets using the power of their mind. The title of Ronson's book comes from another alleged ability that the soldiers had: to be able to kill a goat (and by extension a human being) simply by staring at it long enough.
