Director Gabriele Muccino is in negotiations with Morgan Creek to make Passengers. The Seven Pounds and The Pursuit of Happyness helmer made the announcement during a press conference in Rome for his new Italian film Kiss Me Again. The picture has received a greenlight from Morgan Creek and it's expected to film this summer. Keanu Reeves remains attached to star as well as produce.

Passengers, Jon Spaihts' science fiction drama that has Keanu Reeves attached to star in it, has received an extra boost of power to get it out of development hell. Morgan Creek Productions has stepped in to co-develop the project with Reeves' Company Films and wants to move it into the greenlight phase in short order.
