Unused Prometheus story secrets revealed by original screenwriter
Back in June and shortly after the release of Ridley Scott's Prometheus, the online discussion circled around how much of the movie's screenplay was changed by Damon Lindelof, one of the creators of Lost. Scott had brought in Lindelof to rework Jon Spaihts first draft of the film.

Big Trouble in Little China's Jack Burton watches the Prometheus trailer
Question: what do you get when you take a character that Kurt Russell played in the 1980s (inspired by John Wayne, no less) and have him comment on Ridley Scott's latest opus, Prometheus? Why, dear reader, it's the internet's latest mash-up and collision of two cinematic worlds.
Russell's character is, of course, two-fisted trucker Jack Burton from the 1986 John Carpenter movie Big Trouble in Little China. If you've seen Big Trouble, then you may recall Burton's style of saying what's on his mind and in his larger-than-life style.

Prometheus video explains opening Engineer sequence
Warning: the video below explains how WETA Digital created the CG FX seen in the opening moments of Prometheus. If you haven't seen the movie yet and are avoiding spoilers, turn back now!
Ridley Scott's Prometheus is proving to be one of those films where you either like it or hate it. Regardless of how you may feel about the final result, the effects in the sci-fi spectacular are all top notch. One of the most impressive sequences comes at the start of the film and shows us a member of the Engineer race sacrificing his own life to "seed" a planet (possibly Earth) with his DNA.

The Prometheus movie viral is continuing
If you stuck through the end credits of Ridley Scott's Prometheus, did you see the question "What is 10-11-12"? in there? If not, the answer to the question is delivered in part by a newly discovered viral website promoting the world of Prometheus, and a new video featuring Guy Pearce as Peter Weyland.
If you ask me, it looks like a moment or two before Weyland stepped out into the audience to deliver his TED 2023 talk.

Review: Prometheus
Director Ridley Scott returns to the universe he helped create in Alien, the 1979 science fiction horror classic. Those fans of Alien that have analyzed the development of that film know about the mercurial, ever-changing course that its production took, and how a disagreement over the movie’s budget nearly forced Scott to scrap plans to build the set for Alien’s greatest reveal, that of the fossilized creature sitting in its pilot’s chair onboard its crashed vessel. Without that set and creature, the Space Jockey, there would never have been a Prometheus, the sidequel/prequel Scott has now made.

Early Prometheus reviews begin to leak
While Prometheus won't open stateside until June 8, today was the opening day for the movie in France and several Scandinavian countries. Thanks to that technical invention that's called the internet, the first people to watch Prometheus were writing up their reviews and publishing them on several fansites. Shortly thereafter followed the trade magazines like Variety and The Hollywood Reporter with their own views on the sci-fi film.
So what are people thinking of Prometheus? If you look at the professional critics, they are finding things to both commend and to criticize.

Prometheus viral video: Happy Birthday David
Regardless of how the end movie will turn out, the Prometheus viral marketing team is doing a stellar job of marketing their product. Today's gem is a new video featuring Michael Fassbender's David, the Weyland "artificial person" that resides onboard USCSS Prometheus and assists the crew on their mission.

Trailer #2: Prometheus
And here it is. A few hours after the IMAX trailer for Prometheus fell on the web, now arrives the second full trailer for Ridley Scott's Prometheus.
If you watched the IMAX one and think that you've seen all of what the marketing team at 20th Century Fox wants to share about the movie, you're wrong. There are other new images in the second Prometheus trailer that aren't in the IMAX one -- including an incredibly brief, half-second look at what I believe is
Here it comes:

I'm expecting the online release of the second trailer for Prometheus sometime today, but right now the IMAX trailer is online and ready for your ocular consumption.
Before you go into this, know that certain images in the trailer confirm some of the suspicions that I had about Ridley Scott's Alien prequel. If you've been keeping up on the Prometheus rumors then some of what you will see in the IMAX trailer will likely inspire confidence in believing those rumors.

5 reasons why Prometheus may be a bad Alien movie
As I write these words we’re three months away from watching Prometheus, Ridley Scott’s big return to science fiction movies. The Prometheus movie marketing hype has just kicked up a notch with the reveal of the TED 2023 talk. As the clock ticks down to Prometheus’ June 8 opening we’ll see the marketing escalate, and more of the movie’s secrets (and its increasingly likely strong connections to the first Alien movie) emerge from the shadows.

Guy Pearce gives a TED Talk from 2023 for Prometheus
To my mind this is one of the best pieces of viral movie marketing in years: giving waiting fans original material that beefs up the backstory of the world we'll experience in Prometheus.

A trailer for the Prometheus trailer
If this doesn't give the boys at 20th Century Fox an inkling that people are interested in seeing Eidley Scott's Prometheus movie, nothing will. Over at Apple's trailer site there's a trailer teasing us about the release of the Prometheus trailer online, scheduled to happen on Thursday. Yes, the Internet had now delivered us a teaser trailer for a movie trailer's release...God help us all.

Official synopsis for Prometheus and the rumored storyline
Ridley Scott and his partners at 20th Century Fox are (so far) doing a masterful job at locking down all information about Prometheus, the filmmakers return to the Alien universe (sort of.) The logline we've been given has raised more questions than answered questions about what we can expect to see in the sci-fi movie, and the brief descriptions anout Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender or Charlize Theron's characters aren't providing any more clues. So what does Fox do? They go and release an official synopsis of the movie!
