A second movie version of the classic murder mystery novel Rebecca is being developed by DreamWorks. Screenwriter Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Dirty Pretty Things) has been hired to adapt the 1938 novel into script form.

Rebecca was first turned into a movie by legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock. The 1940 picture is considered by many to be one of Hitchcock's finest thrillers.
