The film rights for Channel 4's Red Riding mini-series have been purchased by Columbia Pictures. The studio is in talks with the American Gangster and Hannibal duo of director Ridley Scott and screenwriter Steve Zaillian to craft the American version of the story. Both men are also in talks for a producer credit on the production. Andrew Eaton of Revolutionary Films, one of the mini's original producers, will also receive a producer credit on the Columbia adaptation. [Full story]
