With filming scheduled to commence on Singularity in March 2012, a temporary halt on the production has been ordered. Director Roland Emmerich wants to work more on the story and he's called in Ray Kurtzweil, one of the fathers behind the science theory to the singularity concept. Kurtzweil believes that humanity will evolve to a more higher physical and mental level through advances in technology. Immortality, freedom from disease and hunger and more will supposedly follow.

It's believed that Emmerich will work closely with Kurtzweil on the story, incorporating more hard science into the screenplay.
