On his blog, Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor broke word that he's scoring the soundtrack to The Social Network. "I've always loved David's work but quite honestly I wondered what would draw him to tell that story. When I actually read the script and realized what he was up to, I said goodbye to that free time I had planned," said Reznor. "Atticus Ross and I have been on a creative roll so I asked him if he wanted to work on this with me and we signed on.
"Months later, I'm happy to tell you we're nearing the completion of this and I couldn't be happier with how it's turned out. The level of excellence that David operates on is inspiring and the entire process has been challenging and truly enjoyable."
Reznor also added that the movie is "really fucking good. And dark!"

The first review of Aaron Sorkin's The Social Network screenplay has debuted online and it's enthusiastically positive. Carson Reeves of ScriptShadow has the details on the characters and premise of TSN and confirms that the story does chronicle the origin of Facebook and how all of the players in its creation met, worked together and then had their personal and professional falling outs.
"Part of my love for this 162 page script is that Sorkin doesn't use any discernible structure. I was constantly looking for a base, an obvious story or goal. And there isn't any. 99% of the time when this happens, the script's a disaster (don't try it. just, don't) But Sorkin uses some crazy unknown voodoo screenwriting tricks to keep us riveted," writes Reeves.
