All those big summer movies have big production costs, and if you're a film executive looking to hedge your bets do what George Lucas did back in 1976: sell the toy license rights and make action figures that the kids will play with. Or that you hope kids will play with.

Slashfilm has published three photos showing the upcoming Playmates action figure line-up for Terminator Salvation. Included in the snaps are your T-600 Terminators, your T-800 endoskeleton Terminators, a Hunter-Killer and some of the fleshy characters that actors will be playing. And if you don't want to have your T4 movie ruined by learning a major story spoiler then we advise that you do not follow this link and look at the photos because, yup, the Playmates photos give it up in a big way.

Merry Christmas to Terminator fans from the Film School Rejects. They've found two new photos from the movie to share with the world, one showing Christian Bale's John Connor poking a disabled hydrobot terminator while the other shows a lone person (possibly Marcus Wright) wandering across a desert with a crashed plane in the background. (At least we're pretty certain it's a downed plane and not Santa's sleigh, but we make no promises, OK?)

A second trailer for Terminator Salvation has arrived online and can be watched on Apple's trailer website. In it you get to see more of the new Terminator models, such as the moto-terminator bike units and the gigantic harvesters, scenes of humans cattled in Skynet-controlled camps, and new scenes of the mysterious new character Marcus Wright (played by Sam Worthington) and John Connor (Christian Bale). And there is one blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment that suggests a new complication to John's life:

A very cool looking motion poster for Terminator Salvation has been found on the Sony Pictures website. Using Flash, the poster "moves" to change from a top-down look at the Los Angeles city grid to ground zero for nuclear explosions, and from the conflaguation the cityscape changes to the unmistakable face of a Terminator staring at you. Neat-o.

See the moving poster in action. While Warner Bros. is handling the domestic distribution of T4, Sony is handling the international arm of the film's release, thus explaining why the motion poster was found on that company's website.

A series of eight pieces of conceptual artwork that appears to be from Terminator Salvation has mysteriously appeared online and spread like wildfire across the movie news reporting websites. We've tried to determine the origin of these images and have come up short, but they do appear to look legitimate. The designs show off several new Terminators that would appear to match up with what's been rumored and what's been shown in the teaser trailer including the hydrobot, a giant Harvester robot and the T-600 model Terminator (as seen on the left.) For a look at the full assortment of eight images hit our photo gallery for Terminator Salvation.
