Spec'd: Toy Story 3

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced a November 2, 2010 release for Toy Story 3 on DVD and Blu-ray. The highest-grossing animated movie of all-time and Disney's second-highest grossing movie in the studio's history, Toy Story 3 will be available in a four-disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack ($45.99), one-disc DVD ($29.99) and two-disc Blu-ray ($39.99). There will also be an Ultimate Toy Box 3-Movie Collection that will contain all three movies on Blu-ray, DVD and digital, with its final price to be specified.

Toy Story 3 crosses the one billion dollar mark

Today Toy Story 3 earned its first ten figure dollar bill, pushing the worldwide take of the film to one billion dollars. The watermark isn't just significant for Disney and Pixar because the movie is now the animation house's highest grossing Pixar film ever but that Toy Story 3 is the second movie released by Disney in 2010 to earn $1 billion at the box office.

Toy Story 3 is #1 for 2nd weekend

Earlier today my 8-year-old son went to see Toy Story 3 at an afternoon matinee with his gramma. The theater was packed with kids and adults alike. That scenario seems to have played out in theaters across the continent this weekend as TS3 won its second straight weekend at the top of the box office, besting the new Adam Sandler comedy and the new Tom Cruise action movie.

(Incidentally both he and his gramma loved Toy Story 3.)

Toy Story 3 opening shatters Pixar's box office record

Toy Story 3 is one of the year's best reviewed movies so far (read my thoughts on it here) but now it's become the personal best for its makers. Pixar's 11th animated feature took in an estimated $109 million dollars over its three-day opening, easily besting the opening $70.4 million dollar take of The Incredibles.

Toy Story 3 has a great Friday while Jonah Hex falls short

On its first day of release, yesterday, Toy Story 3 soared high at the box office. Early estimates indicate that the three-quel took in $41 million dollars alone just on Friday. While that figure is impressive, it still doesn't earn Toy Story 3 a place in the record books for the top 20 highest grossing individual day for a movie. That said, today could be an even bigger day for Toy Story 3 as families take advantage of matinees.

Review: Toy Story 3

Woody and Buzz are back, and so are most of their formed plastic friends in Pixar's Toy Story 3. If this is to be the end of their adventures together (and no one said that it is, I'm just thinking that waiting a decade between sequel instalments isn't helping anyone think of Toy Story 4) then it's a brilliant way to end the series and ride off into the CG sunset.

Toy Story 3 trailer winds up online

The teaser trailer for Toy Story 3 made a partial debut on Wednesday's Entertainment Tonight episode. You really didn't want to watch what little there was of it with some ET personality droning over it, did you? Of course not, which is why I'm here to show you a high definition version of the complete teaser trailer that's running with Disney/Pixar's Up, opening in theaters today.
