A new behind-the-scenes featurette has been given to us by Walt Disney Pictures. This time the focus is on Sunnyside, the young childrens' daycare that Andy's toys are donated to. The short also focuses a bit on two of the new toy characters introduced in Toy Story 3, Lots-o'-Huggin' bear and Ken, the "accessory" to Barbie.

A viral video marketing campaign for Toy Story 3 has been discovered online. Two days ago the first video was found on YouTube of what appears to be a television commercial from the 1980s of a Lots-o-Huggin toy bear. Of course, there never was a Lots-o-Huggin bear until Disney made the character for Toy Story 3.
We did a little searching and discovered a second fake video posted to the original YouTube video's comments thread showing a Japanese commercial:

Want to know what the Toy Story 3 footage screened at this past weekend's inaugural D23 convention showed but you couldn't be there to see it for yourself? Latino Review's George Roush was in the audience and he's got a pretty detailed breakdown of what Disney decided to show people.
"The scene started with Andy in his room and his mom and Andy's sister Molly coming into Andy's room. His mom was telling Andy he had three days to pack the stuff he wanted to bring to college or she'd throw the rest of his stuff away. Geez, mom. You're gonna throw all of his stuff away? That's cold, woman!"

John Lasseter has revealed the identity of a new cast member of Toy Story 3 at a Disney Animation Showcase presentation held today in London, England. British born actor Timothy Dalton, who played secret agent James Bond in License to Kill and The Living Daylights, will play a porcupine toy character named Mr. Pricklepants who has lofty ambitions to be an acclaimed actor himself.
As reported by Empire magazine, some footage from Toy Story 3 was also screened to the attendees:
"The clip showed Andy packing from college, and emptying all his toys into a black bin bag for storage in the attic. He hesitates over Woody and Buzz, finally putting Woody in the box of things to take for college. But all the toys are panicked - especially Woody, who's worried for his friends. When Andy is distracted by his little sister and leaves the garbage bag on the landing instead of upstairs in the attic, his mother takes it out to the kerb - and a frantic Woody has to save his friends from a rapidly approaching bin lorry.
"We also saw the as-yet unreleased trailer, which showed bits of the same scene, but developed the story. Clearly the toys end up being sent to a daycare centre, where they are horribly abused by the little kids - and after that it's time for a break-out attempt to find a safe haven, and hopefully a new owner, in a cruel world. It looks every bit as good as its titanic predecessors."- Empire. Comment on this Scoop (0)
