Spec'd: Up

After grossing $367 million dollars globally in theaters Disney is releasing Pixar's Up on DVD and Blu-ray come November 10, 2009. In addition to a single-disc DVD version ($29.99) there will be a two-disc DVD ($39.99) and a four-disc Blu-ray ($45.99) versions.

The most important story about Pixar's Up that you will ever read

When 10-year-old Colby Curtin saw the trailer for Pixar's new movie Up she had just one final thing to accomplish before her time ended on this world: she had to see that movie. Thanks to the efforts of a family friend that cold called Pixar as well as the employees at the company, last week Colby got her wish and watched Up. She passed away only seven hours later, succumbing to the cancer that was destroying her body.

Up and away at Friday's box office

How big is Disney's Up going to be at theaters this weekend? Buoyed by exceptionally great reviews and a pedigree of good will because of the high quality of prior Pixar product, Up rocked far ahead of its competition yesterday. On the film's opening day Up took in an estimated $21.4 million dollars, almost three times as much as the day's second-highest grossing film.
