Gary Ross, director/screenwriter of Seabiscuit and Pleasantville, has been hired to work on a new draft of Columbia's Venom movie. Ross is also onboard as one of the picture's producers (along with Avi Arad).

While previous drafts of the Venom screenplay have been turned in by Zombieland scribes Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and another by Jacob Estes, it's unknown how much, if any, Ross will use of the earlier drafts for his version.
