The first test screening review for Zombieland that we've seen was published by Slashfilm yesterday. The person that submitted the report gave the film their recommendation but the review is surprisingly sparce on story details save for a mention as to the location of the movie's final action piece. Here's a snippet:
"The film had some points that lagged, but its very likely that they’ll cut all that down a little before October. It also felt like the movie took far too long to get to the amusement park at the end (the part of the film everyone really wants to see), and then once they get there, it was over far too fast. Harrelson’s character gets some truly excellent zombie kills in while they are there, but it left me wanting more."- Slashfilm. Comment on this Scoop (0)

Director Ruben Fleisher posted an update to his website on Saturday. "Zombieland is officially done shooting. We finished up today with some serious LA landmarks - Grauman’s Chinese Theater, Beverly Drive, and the 4th Street Bridge," he said, posting two photos of the street outside the world famous theater with debris strewn all over. "All in all a good day. A nice reunion, and very low pressure shooting. From here there is a long summer of editing before me, which is daunting, but exciting, because I know the material we have is so strong. It should be lots of fun. I honestly can’t wait."- Ruben Fleisher. Comment on this Scoop (0)

As he was departing from a terminal at New York's La Guardia airport last Wednesday evening, Zombieland actor Woody Harrelson allegedly assaulted a paparazzi photographer who was following him and his daughter. Here's where things get weird and related to the movie: according to Harrelson, the reason why Harrelson lashed out at his pursuer is that he mistook the photographer as a zombie.
"I wrapped a movie called Zombieland, in which I was constantly under assault by zombies, then flew to New York, still very much in character," Harrelson said in a statement released yesterday Friday by his publicist. "With my daughter at the airport I was startled by a paparazzo, who I quite understandably mistook for a zombie."
TMZ, the stalkerazzi celeb news website, has a video of the incident and shows Harrelson grabbing the camera of the photographer.
The one positive thing we've learned is that principal photography has wrapped on the movie, so we're bumping the picture's phase up to post-production status.- CNN, TMZ. Comment on this Scoop (0)

Two weeks back there was an open casting call for zombie extras for this film. Lucky for us there was someone who ran out to the audition, recorded it and then threw it on YouTube. If seeing a long line of wannabe extras is as dull for you as it is for us, skip to 1:30 in and then you'll see some zombie tryouts.

Jesse Eisenberg is in talks to join the ranks of those fighting the undead. The 25-year-old would join Woody Harrelson playing a fellow called Flagstaff whom The Hollywood Reporter desribes as a shut-in whose extreme fear and cowardice makes him unusually skillful at eluding the zombie hordes. But when Flagstaff hooks up with the pack of other survivors he has to come out of his shell if he's going to make it all the way to safety without becoming lunch for the walking dead.
Eisenberg credits include The Village, The Squid and the Whale, Cursed and the upcoming Ryan Reynolds/Kristen Stewart comedy Adventureland.- The Hollywood Reporter. Comment on this Scoop (0)
