I have never seen this show.  Should I get on it?

I'm going to tell you to get on it for the time being. Let me know when it's downloaded so I can tell you I think you should delete it.

In all seriousness, I think it's a great show. I can think of three terrible fake British accents you'll have to cringe through. They're all intentionally bad, so maybe it'll be all right.

Arrested Development is a show that benefits from marathon viewings. If you watch four or five episodes in a row, you can catch the continued story lines and recurring jokes more easily than if you had to wait a week in between each one.

Start at the beginning, Dalty.

I am currently camping in the woods with Mrs D (Ms, Her), the Godchildren and I don't think my 4G data plan will cover it!

However it has just started raining.....

I have an OG data plan. In other words, I have no data plan.

So, I've been rewatching this the last couple of nights in anticipation of Sunday and I must say...I'd completely forgot how fucking funny this show is/was. In the TV sitcom panthenon....can we call it the funniest of all time? Top 3, certainly?

And I loved the hell out of this show when it was originally on and now it's BACK. Curse is REVERSED! Suck on THAT, Quasar.

Don't count your chickens yet, Curse-man. A lot can happen between now and May 26th!

Quasar's right. For starters, there's the thirty-sixth anniversary of the release of Star Wars. Thirty-sixth anniversaries are one of the ones we celebrate, right?

Just watched "Pier Pressure." Abs hurt from laughing. Had COMPLETELY forgotten about J. Walter Weatherman and his lessons.

Funniest sitcom of all time. Nothing even comes close.

I'll start watching the new episodes at 11:01 a.m. CST. I might put up a quick review of the series early Sunday morning. I've only slept an hour or two since Thursday morning, so it'll depend on how tired I am.

You should sleep more, Goiter.

Tell that to my body.

Just a little over two hours until the premiere. (Turns out it doesn't start until 12:01 PST. Fuckers.) I'm going to try to nap or read some Max Brand until then.

Just watched the first episode. Michael still doesn't know the Spanish word for "brother."

I think I'm on the fourth one now. I'm enjoying it. Each episode is between 28 and 35 minutes long, so I guess it's a little disorienting. I'm used to 21-22 minute episodes. They don't have to worry about commercial breaks, though, and I'm all for more content.

Another disorienting thing is how each episode (so far) focuses on a specific family member. Some characters (Michael, George Sr.) can carry a full episode better than others (Lindsay).

It's been nice getting to see old gags revisited and new gags developed. It works better in the Arrested Development universe than the Star Wars universe.

Just finished the sixth.

I forgot to mention that they're also making it so that the episodes interlock. This is something I knew to expect, thanks to interviews I'd read with various cast members and Hurwitz.

It works for the most part, but it can be its own distraction. It's often obvious that a bizarrely dressed character seen from behind is going to turn out to be a family member and that the scene is going to be revisited in a future episode, and it's also often obvious which family member it's going to be. Sometimes it piques my curiosity as to how it's going to play out, and sometimes it makes my internal just-get-on-with-it meter jump.

Some of the show's other "surprises" are telegraphed early on (
the identity of Ron Howard's illegitimate daughter, for example
)--and when I say early on, I mean immediately. I'm left wondering whether I was supposed to figure it out or whether it was, indeed, meant to be a surprise. These haven't really been annoying, but I guess they have taken me out of things a bit.

I'm still really enjoying it, and I'm glad on some level that the fourth season has a bit of different feel to it.

I'm about to start the twelfth episode. I'm getting a little sad that I'm almost out of episodes.

It's impressive how much care went into the plotting of this season. Sometimes I feel like the funny has been sacrificed for plotting's sake, but on the whole, I'm having a good time. It's been a nice way to spend a Sunday.

Maybe I would have enjoyed it more if I had spaced it out more, but maybe not. No real way to know.

My husband accidentally started the first season instead of the fourth, so we're binging on that first.

I've seen all but the last episode at this point. My favorite so far has been "It Gets Better," the George-Michael episode.

I was pleasantly surprised by the Buster episode. I've always liked Buster as a supporting character, but I figured an episode built around him would fall flat for me. I was wrong.
