Expect to play more video games based on the creations of Robert Ludlum, writer of The Bourne Identity. Electronic Arts has struck a deal with Ludlum Entertainment that allows the software developer/distributor to make games based on Ludlum properties.
The first game in development is, of course, based on the bestselling Bourne books and film franchise. Swedish developer Starbreeze Studios, the ones that crafted the much-hailed Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay title, has been given the go-ahead to begin work on the new game. Last year Vivendi released their first and only Bourne game, The Bourne Conspiracy. It received mediocre reviews and sales.
Matt Wolf, the curator of the Bourne franchise, will oversee the development of the new game. He's had experience working as the go-between with the estates of international authors and gaming studios, having facilitated the creative discussion between Roald Dahl's estate and the game makers of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
