CA adds an exclusive category

Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Thursday, June 11, 2009

As the site continues to evolve and add more content one of the new ways will be in adding more exclusive articles. These special features could take the form of interviews, set reports, editorials, lists, event coverage or script reviews. While they can be directly related to Coming Attractions' coverage of movies, television, games and DVD, I've felt that they also deserve to have their own separate category too where all of the CA exclusives can be found quickly and with easy access. With this in mind CA has added a new category called "exclusive" to its repetoire. Naturally, if there's a new category then the site needs a new icon symbol for exclusives and I can't think of a more fitting icon than the Corona sun symbol.

If a news story is an exclusive to this site, that is a major piece of news in the form of a lengthy article, it will fall under the exclusive category. I'll still cross-connect exclusives with the area of entertainment that they pertain to, so for example a visit to a movie set will be placed under both the "exclusive" and "film" categories so people that choose to look back under the film category will be able to find the article there. This won't affect exclusives that are scoops; these smaller stories will still appear underneath their respective movie database pages. The headlines for exclusives will also still continue to appear in the "Breaking News" box on the main page and underneath the "all news" category.

Past exclusive stories (like the script review for ABC's V pilot or the Return of the Thing mini-series) have now been retroactively added to the new category. Look for more new exclusive stories to be announced and added shortly.
