Two separate sources are claiming that 20th Century Fox is quietly starting to assemble a Deadpool spinoff movie. This comes as no surprise to anyone that knew a bit about how popular the character is in the Marvel Comics universe, that Ryan Reynolds is a comic book fan, and that X-Men Origins: Wolverine debuted to the tune of $85 million dollars domestic.
However, readers of MTV 's Splash Page and Variety may not be as plugged into who Deadpool is as the ones that frequent this establishment. As portrayed in the Wolverine flick he was one of several mutants assembled by General Stryker to perform black op missions. Known more for his quick wit and a neverending stream of bad jokes and insults that he slings just as much to his friends as to his enemies, in the comics Deadpool wears a full-body costume because of a disfigurement that came from a medical experiment that saved his life. Fans of the character from the comics questioned the cinematic changes that befell the movie Deadpool. Whether the Deadpool movie would try and cross the chasm and make Reynolds' character more similar to the guy in the comics is presently unknown...however....
...the source for Splash Page mentioned that Lauren Shuler Donner is producing the Deadpool movie and that the film will be "a complete exploration of this unique character — his origins, his emergence as the Merc with the Mouth." Now we wait to see what the official word will be which may in fact come from Reynolds himself. His next movie The Proposal opens on June 19 and that means he'll be hitting the press junket circuit soon. Who wants to take the bet that one of the top questions he'll field from onliners is about the supposed Deadpool movie?

No, no, no, no! F**king studio execs really are one dimensional motherf**kers with no clue at all outside a movies gross. You can see the meeting now:
"Wolverine made $85million, therefore we must immediately greenlight a sequel, plus spin off movies for at least 3 characters in Wolverine and they will all make money too!"
"Good job everyone, cocaine and rent boys all round!"
As usual they completely fail to take into account the fact that out of the $85million at least $10million only went to see Hugh Jackman with his shirt off and another $35 million thought the movie was shit and won't be going to see a sequel or spin off.
