Spec'd: Marvel's The Avengers DVD
Arriving on September 26, 2012 on home video is Marvel's The Avengers, the highest-grossing superhero movie of all-time and present third-highest grossing movie ever. Paramount Home Video is handling the home video release of the film (as per their agreement with Walt Disney, the owners/theatrical distribution studio.)
The Avengers will have three disc versions: a 4-disc Blu-ray, a 2-disc Blu-ray DVD and a single-disc DVD. Perhaps the most important bonus feature listed on the discs will be an audio commentary track by screenwriter/director Joss Whedon, so expect a lot of comic book geeking out when you pop that one on the player.

Magneto in drag in X-Men: First Class outtakes
In the 40 years that Marvel has published X-Men comic books, there hasn't been one instance where the master of magnetism dressed up in sexy women's clothing. Maybe. Well, I'm pretty certain the answer is no.

Trailer: Planes
If you haven't heard, Disney and Pixar are making a spinoff from Cars called Planes. With a self-explanatory title like that, you already know what this side project is all about. Planes won't be released theatrically but instead arrive on DVD next year, similar to the direct-to-DVD animated sequels that Disney put out a few years back.

DVD Review: Tron Legacy
Upon second viewing of Tron Legacy, Disney's follow-up to the first CG film made 27 years ago, I find myself forgiving some of the movie's flaws in favor of what it provides upon casual viewing: nice eye candy.

DVD Review: Tangled
I'll have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised by Tangled. My impressions of the film, based solely on the marketing and hype leading up to its November 2010 release, were that it wasn't something that I was going to be interested in watching.

DVD Review: Bambi - Diamond Edition
I'll have to come clean and admit something: as a child I never watched Bambi. My head and heart were captured by outer space and Star Wars, and the cartoons I grew up watching were old Looney Tunes and Woody Woodpecker shows. Instead of crying over that most infamous of moments in Bambi (and if you don't know what I'm talking about, then I won't be the one to spoil you now), I cried over Bruce Dern blowing up the Valley Forge at the end of Silent Running.

Walking Dead DVD release targeted for spring 2011
With a short first season's worth of six episodes, one imagines that when AMC releases The Walking Dead on DVD it could come out on a single disc. That might still yet happen for while no official confirmation from AMC about what bonus material might be on the S1 set of TWD, there is now at least a rumor as to when we might expect to be able to buy the whole season of zombie killing drama.
