Spec'd: Marvel's The Avengers DVD
Arriving on September 26, 2012 on home video is Marvel's The Avengers, the highest-grossing superhero movie of all-time and present third-highest grossing movie ever. Paramount Home Video is handling the home video release of the film (as per their agreement with Walt Disney, the owners/theatrical distribution studio.)
The Avengers will have three disc versions: a 4-disc Blu-ray, a 2-disc Blu-ray DVD and a single-disc DVD. Perhaps the most important bonus feature listed on the discs will be an audio commentary track by screenwriter/director Joss Whedon, so expect a lot of comic book geeking out when you pop that one on the player.

Review: Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue
As someone who falls outside of the target demographic for this title, I took it upon myself to ask my six-year-old daughter if she would like to help with this review. She's a big fan of all things princess and Tinker Bell, and it's been with baited breath that she's awaited another of these releases, having watched the first two. But will her interest wain in Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue? After all, the last one Disney released, Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure, seemed to be better received than the first.
For myself, I was hoping for less fairy dust and more action.

Spec'd: Jonah Hex
The Jonah Hex movie has the distinction of being one of the big financial losers of the summer of 2010. Made on a reported budget of somewhere between $50 to 70 million dollars and plagued with reshoots and creative trouble before its release, Jonah only managed to rustle up $10.5 million dollars from its domestic run. Overseas, the movie played even worse, in fact it bypassed cinemas and is headed straight for video. Oh, Jonah, what's a melted face gunslinger to do?

The U.K. Inception Blu-ray makes a strong case
So what's the kick with the limited edition U.K. Blu-ray version of Inception? For starters it comes inside its own metal briefcase. Can your Shrek DVD claim that?

Trailer: 30 Days of Night - Dark Days
I liked the 30 Days of Night movie. Call me an old school kid but I believe vampires are something to be feared and hunted down, not get cuddly and play baseball with. (The irony that David Slade directed 30 Days of Night and then The Twilight Saga: Eclipse isn't lost on me, but everyone needs to make money to pay their mortgage, right?)
