Jessica Biel has two lower lips.
I hope-hopey-hope-hope that the FF reboot is as bad-ass as the un-erringly super-awesome Hulk and Punisher reboots.
Bad-ass.
Bad-ass!
Now that it appears the golden age of superhero films is turning into the ongoing era of superhero films it stands to reason that movie studios may be looking at ways to take their modest hits in the genre and give them a tune-up and a fresh coat of paint to see if they can earn Iron Man-like box office. The latest comic book franchise rumored to be under consideration for an overhaul? Fantastic Four.
IESB broke the story yesterday that 20th Century Fox is giving their FF franchise a serious second look and coming up with ways to improve on what director Tim Story did with the 2005 and 2007 films. The Bureau is breaking that Fox wants its new Fantastic Four to be "less bubble gum" and mold it more in the semi-darker, serious vein that Jon Favreau did with Iron Man. That also means none of the same cast members or crew would return; in effect Fox wants to reboot FF.
Both FF movies made $620 million for Fox worldwide but the second picture, Rise of the Silver Surfer, stalled the franchise and there hasn't been any heat at all so far on making a third with Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis. Recasting the Fantastic family and getting new creative blood working behind-the-scenes might do a lot for jaded fans who feel that the two recent movies didn't live up to the potential found in the comics.

I enjoyed the Fantastic Four movies, but I'm not opposed to a reboot, although it would be nice if they kept Chris Evans.
Just imagine how much better the second FF movie would have been if they had showed freaking GALACTUS???

Jessica Alba, not Biel. Both are superhot, but they are not the same.
I know a lot of people had problems with the FF movies. Sure, they didn't challenge anyone intellectually or provide some deep insight into the human condition, but I thought both were pretty good superhero flicks aimed at younger kids. Not everything has to be targeted to our generation who grew up with these characters. There is a whole NEW generation of people growing up with them, too!
I love Batman. I like Burton's two films. I love Nolan's. I adore Batman: TAS and Justice League. However, I think that "The Batman" and "Brave and the Bold" are geared for younger kids. Neither show is as dark as TAS, but I don't mind that at all. Batman is a lot of things to a lot of people, but at least, at the core, even in the kid shows, he's still a guy driven to fight crime, spurred on by the murder of his parents.
