I didnt care much for Breaking In, watched one episode.
I enjoy The Chicago Code though, sad it didnt get a second Chance. And didnt Olivia Wilde already leave House? Lie to Me didnt get a chance this year, I enjoyed that as well.
May is the time of the year when the fates of the majority of television series get revealed by the networks. Which standbys are coming back for another season? Which shows have been ended? And what pilots for proposed new TV series have received favorable news -- and which have not? The fate of several shows airing on Fox are now known, and depending on where your interests lie, the news could be good or bad for you.
Remember that proposed series based on Joe Hill's Locke & Key comic book series? Well, Fox execs saw the pilot and didn't see much point in making it an ongoing show. However, the pilot for J.J. Abrams-produced Alcatraz? The Fox brass liked what they saw and an initial order to bring the concept to series was given.
Also picked up by the network was Zooey Deschanel's The New Girl; the Bones spinoff called The Finder (thus giving Michael Clarke Duncan a regular paycheck); a comedy with Jaime Pressly called I Hate My Teenage Daughter; a series based on the cult indie hit Napoleon Dynamite; and a new animated series called Allen Gregory from executive producers Jonah Hill and French Stewart.
Receiving the axe were The Human Target (gone after two seasons); newbies The Chicago Code and Breaking In; and the Tim Roth procedural vehicle Lie to Me.
Finally, getting a pick-up for its eighth season was House. While series star and executive producer Hugh Laurie is returning, the fates of several of the show's supporting cast are still up in the air. Olivia Wilde may leave the show to pursue her budding movie career.

I'm not current with House, but IMDB has her listed as appearing in the most recent 5 episodes.
Yeah, she returned, but as the supporting characters of House, M.D. go she might be gone after another five episodes and they could bring back Amber Tamblyn

Breaking In was cancelled before it was ever conceived. Christian Slater just needs to get a show on CBS, then he'll have run the gamut of the network channels. It's funny because during American Idol, Fox would run promos for Breaking In calling it "a hit". Obviously in the advertising world, any show currently on tv is considered "a hit".
