Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Tuesday, April 7, 2009
Warner Premiere has bumped up the release of Green Lantern: First Flight seven days ahead of schedule. This full-length animated movie will now go on sale starting July 21, 2009.
Featuring the voices of Christopher Meloni (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, Victor Garber (Alias) as Hal's alien mentor Sinestro, Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) as Green Lantern Boodikka and Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs) as Kilowog, the Lantern Corps' new recruit trainer, the movie retells Hal Jordan's first days as a Green Lantern and his training by Sinestro. After being shown the ropes on how to be Earth's cosmic protector, Jordan discovers that Sinestro hides a secret that threatens everything that he's been taught a Green Lantern must uphold.
Green Lantern: First Flight is directed by Lauren Montgomery (Wonder Woman, Superman: Doomsday), produced by Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series) and written by four-time Emmy Award-winning writer Alan Burnett (The Batman). There will be a special edition two-disc version on DVD ($24.98) and Blu-ray Hi-Def ($29.99) and a single disc version DVD for $19.98. The two-disc version features over three hours of supplementary material as well as a Digital Copy Download.

Both Wonder Woman and Superman: Doomsday were both brilliant. If this Lauren Montgomery hits 3 for 3 with this one then maybe somebody should take notice from Pixar or Dreamworks?
