Hack/Slash Bond
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Wednesday, July 15, 2009
It's been a couple of years since news of any forward movement on the proposed Hack/Slash movie, based on the Devil's Due comic book of the same name, has been heard of. Director Todd Lincoln had at one time been attached to make the horror/action film for Rogue Pictures but he's since moved on to other pastures including the development of The Nye Incidents. Now H/S has a director once again and it's one Fredrik Bond.
Bond is making the move from commercials director to becoming a feature film director. He's attached to two other horror productions, the remakes of The Hunger and The Host. Rogue Pictures is hoping that the hiring of Bond will now mark a new progressive phase with their project. The script for the Hack/Slash movie is by Justin Marks (Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li, Grayskull)
Hack/Slash debuted in 2004 as a series of one-shots, single issue comic books. The main character is teenage Cassie Hack, a young woman who's life was disruped by a number of "slashers", serial killers that follow in the supernatural mold as Jason Voorhees from the Friday the 13th films or Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street series. Partnered with a hulking masked and nearly mute man called Vlad, the two cross the country in search of slashers and, when they find them, bring about an end to their killing sprees.
