Halle Berry considering Surrogate motherhood

Halle Berry is in negotiations to topline The Surrogate, director Paul Verhoven's new thriller.

The involvement of Verhoeven just came to light last Friday. If Berry signs a contract to star in the movie it will mark her return to acting after she gave birth to a baby girl last year. It would also bring her back to work with producer Ralph Winter who knows Berry from the days she played Storm in three of Fox's X-Men movies.

What's unknown is which of the two main female roles the actress would play. In the story an infertile couple hire a woman to serve as the surrogate mother of their future child. The woman proceeds to get pregnant but then the couple discover that she in dangerously insane. Berry could conceivably play either role.
