Hancock tops DVD sales, Dark Knight sizzles on iTunes
Posted by Patrick Sauriol on Wednesday, December 3, 2008
In its debut on home video last week Sony's Hancock flew straight to the pole position on Nielsen's VideoScan charts for DVD and Blu-ray sales and rentals, pushing WALL-E down to second place in the sales list. DreamWorks' Kung Fu Panda, which has been on store shelves for a month, is still sitting pretty in third place.
Meanwhile pre-release sales for Warner's The Dark Knight have been so hot on Apple's iTunes that it's already surpassed WALL-E as the year's biggest seller on that site. Following Disney/Pixar's robot on the iTunes site are DreamWorks' Kung Fu Panda, Paramount's Iron Man and Disney's National Treasure: Book of Secrets.
