Hansel and Gretel hunts witches and collects box office

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters is the new #1 movie in the land. This weird fantasy-action movie starring Jeremy Renner from The Avengers and The Bourne Legacy and Gemma Arterton from Quantum of Solace, grossed an estimated $19 million dollars this weekend.
With a new number one, last week's champ, the horror flick Mama, drops to #2 with $12.8m in new ticket sales. Two weeks into its theatrical run Mama has a total gross of $48.6m.
Buoyed by its four Oscar nominations for its actors, Silver Linings Playbook remains solid at #3 ($10m new, $69.4m total.)
Zero Dark Thirty drops two spots to #4 this week ($9.8m new, $69.9m total.)
Jason Statham has a new movie out called Parker, in which he shoots handguns and drives fast cars. Sounds like a break from his usual action tough guy fare. In its inaugural week Parker grossed $7 million.
Django Unchained is still hanging in there, only falling one position this week to stand at #6 ($5m new, $146.3m total.)
Also new in theaters is the star-filled comedy Movie 43. Made in the same vein as Amazon Women on the Moon or Kentucky Fried Movie, the big issue with Movie 43 is that it's getting terrible reviews. I read one which said Date Movie was a superior crappy movie, and that's really saying a lot. Movie 43 only could scrounge up $5 mil for its opening weekend.
With most Ryan Gosling fans already had their fill of seeing his latest movie Gangster Squad, it falls to #8 ($4.2m new, $39.6m total.)
Broken City, starring Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe, drops four as well to #9 ($4.4m new, $15.2m total.)
And sensing that the curtain for it is about to close, the big screen musical Les Miserables perches at #10 ($3.9m new, $137.2m total.)
