Hugh Jackman is using the heat of his new number one movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine to spread word out about a new project that he's producing as well as attached to star in. Called Ghostopolis, the fantasy-oriented film also has roots in the medium where Jackman has scored his biggest wins, the realm of comic books.
Ghostopolis is a forthcoming graphic novel written and illustrated by Doug TenNapel (Creature Tech, The Neverhood). Jackman would play an agent working for the Supernatural Immigration Task Force, a government organization that is charged with ferrying back any stray spirits that crossover from the other side. The hero has to go over to the other side when a human boy is accidentally sent there, and to aid him in his mission the agent will need the help of a former girlfriend who's now a spirit.
Ghostopolis is set up at Walt Disney Pictures and will be developed by Jackman's Seed Productions film company, the same firm that had a hand in the recent Wolverine picture. In addition to a possible Wolverine sequel Jackman also has a third comic book project in development, Virgin Comics' Nowhere Man.
